Steel wires
High carbon wire
High carbon wire, also called spring steel wire, is made from steel with 0.36% to 0.90% carbon, compared with 0.05% to 0.20% in mild steel. It is patented (heat treated) and cold drawn to high strength, so it springs back to shape under load instead of staying bent.
